The version used is Sybase Adaptive server12.5. It seems that version 12. X does not support win7.
Installation interface garbled problem: Find the installation directory Sybase/Server/shared-1_0/jre1.2.2/lib, there are the following font file, copy font. properties. zh. nt5.1 and rename the copy to font. properties. zh. nt6.1
During the installation, it is best to run setup.exe with the administrator ID. If an error is reported on the way, such as: a folder has no write permission, ignore it. At least I can use it normally after installation.
After the installation is complete, if the unscrupulous service cmd.exe starts Sybase, you can start it in bat Mode Under the installation completion directory Sybase/ASE-12_5/install
For services that cannot be directly used, it is okay to find the bat startup method.
The following error occurs when the client and server character set do not match during startup:
In Sybase/locales, find and modify the default values in locales. dat (there are many corresponding systems, so you don't have to change all the settings as shown in the following figure:
Locale = default, us_english, eucgb
The red part is the server character set specified during installation.
Connect to the database artisan used by Sybase and use version 8.x or later. Otherwise, windows is not supported.
