Environment: win7, virtualbox 4.2.4, and Ubuntu 11.10;
1. Install the enhancement package;
After Ubuntu is started, click the device in the upper left corner-install the enhancement ...;
Open the main folder and a CD named vboxadditions_4.2.4_81684 will be loaded;
Start the terminal (shortcut: CTRL + ALT + T) and switch to the vboxadditions_4.2.4_81684 directory;
Command:
cd media/VBOXADDITIONS_4.2.4_81684sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
Restart Ubuntu after installation;
2. Set folder sharing;
First, create a folder in win7 and add the shared property;
My ID is D: \ virtual_shared;
After restarting Ubuntu, click "device-shared folder" in the menu;
Add the shared folder you just created in the fixed assignment and click OK;
3. Mount shared folders;
Enter the following command on the terminal:
sudo mkdir /mnt/sharedsudo mount -t vboxsf VIRTUAL_SHARED /mnt/shared
Now Ubuntu can share folders with win7;
To detach a shared folder, run the following command on the terminal:
sudo umount -f /mnt/shared
You can modify the/etc/fstab file to enable automatic mounting if it is difficult to manually mount each time;
Open/etc/fstab (enter gedit/etc/fstab in the terminal to open the editing interface) and add
VIRTUAL_SHARED /mnt/shared vboxsf rw,gid=100,uid=1000,auto 0 0
You can achieve automatic mounting;
