The installation of winRAR rar compressed files in macOS has been a headache. I did not find a proper tool to simply find a command line. Although it is a command line, it is quite convenient to use it. www.2cto.com first downloads the attachment 1.. enter the command (terminal) window 2. enter the extracted rar directory and use cd downloads/rar to enter; 3. run the following commands to install unrar and rar respectively ;~ $: Sudo install-c-o $ USER unrar/bin Description: $ USER is a default environment variable in the bash shell which contains your username. enter password for www.2cto.com sudo, which is consistent with the password you log on to Mac OS X. Install the rar command below :~ $: Sudo install-c-o $ USER rar/bin 4. Test the unrar and rar commands ;~ $: Unrar if unrar and rar are correctly installed, the response unrar and rar usage is displayed. 5. Enter the directory of the file you want to extract on the terminal and press enter with unrar e fileName.rar to get the rar.zip (386.7 KB) http://up.2cto.com/2012/1122/20121122104028352.zip.
