Skyline is a good three-dimensional GIS in the field of software, compared to GoogleEarth, its application scenario is more focused on industry applications. The entire software body of Skyline currently includes the following:
(1) Terrabuilder: Mainly used to generate terrain data
(2) Terraexplorer: Mainly used to browse generated scene data.
(3) Terragate: Mainly used to publish generated scene data (including terrain and model data).
This article mainly records the skyline of these software configuration installation.
Install Terrabuilder and terraexplorer installation is simple, double-click the Setup.exe, always next. The following problems may occur during the installation of terragate:
This is because Terragate is used to publish the service and requires the IIS services of Windows, so we need to start the Windows IIS service first before installing Open mode is also relatively simple, in the Control Panel select the Install loader program:
in the Select and open Windows Services, check the following options
Click OK, wait for the IIS service installation to complete before installing the Terragate software.
Configuring the license file after the installation of the installation license software is complete, you can open the License Configuration Manager in the Start menu, and then select the Lic file after opening
Use and configuration of software (1) terrabuilder start the Terrabuilder software, you first need to create a new project, as follows:
Add a name and a saved path, you can select the WGS84 ellipsoid coordinate system, You can also select a planar projection coordinate system (the default is the WGS84 ellipsoid), and then next, add our terrain imagery and elevation, as shown in the following illustration:
Click after Add is complete Makempt can generate MPT terrain (imagery and elevation need to have coordinate systems when adding imagery and elevation, you can choose a coordinate system)
After you finish, click the Viewin3d menu to preview the effect.
(2) terragate
Terragate is used to publish the generated terrain as a network service for client remote access, in the following steps:
First you need to modify the default port, Because IIS uses the default 80 port and the Terragate configuration for the 80 port conflict, it needs to be modified:
Add a directory that uses Terrabuilder to generate MPT terrain so that the terrain service can be published:
Service to open the terrain after:
Now you can see that the service is turned on, and in Terrainservice you can see the currently enabled terrain service, which can be accessed in the following format:
Service Name @ip address
such as:
ceshi.mpt@127.0.0.1:81
Use Terraexplorer to open a new project, and then paste the address to access it.
Using the above steps to publish a terrain service, if you are publishing a model service, you can use two scenarios:
(a) Use the model in the XPL2 format to use the field in the WFS service to correlate the XPL2 format model with the published WFS service (note that the XPL2 model is published using IIS) (b) directly using the latest 3DML release, published in Terragate The following approach is discussed below: First open the Terragate SFS Web page (in the Start menu Terragate the installation folder has a Administrator page), as shown in the following image:
After the login (the default user name and password are admin, login will prompt to modify the default password, note that the modified password)
Then add it in the data sources
Server Type: Select 3DML folder in the dropdown, select the 3DML model file directory, fill in the name and description, click OK
Switch to layers, select data source, and then click Configure Data Sources:
You can see the name of the layer being published, and click OK to publish the building layer.
Switch to main and you can see the address of the client accessing the resource:
Note that the HZX-PC is modified to an IP address (accessed only by using a computer name within the LAN)
The following methods are accessed in Terraexplorer:
Click Add 3DML Layer
Select the following server access, click Select,
Add click Connect to see all the layer information posted in the server, click on the appropriate layer to add.
Note Update the following error may occur when you install Terragate:
The specific reasons are:
Terragate installation process requires the installation of a Windows service, this service requires LIC, but the installation directory is not license, resulting in no installation of this service. The solution can be consulted:
