(4) The directory "MDBData" must be empty! Its default path is "C:\EXCHSRVR\MDBDATA", where C disk is the partition where the Win2K system files reside.
(5) There is also a need for DNS (domain Name system, domain name systems) and DHCP (Dynamic host Configure Protocol), which are both services. Their additions can be found in network services in the Add/Remove Windows Components list in the previous step, or you can have the system add them automatically when you install Exchange Server.
(6) Because Exchange Server installation process is very long (often need about 2-3 hours or so), in order to prevent the installation process due to accidents (such as power outages) caused by the occurrence of naught, please do the relevant preventive work in advance.
2. Start the installation work officially
(1) Enter the "setup\i386" Directory of the installation CD, and perform the "Setup.exe" in which the installation work can begin; If Terminal Services is installed on this computer, you will need to add a new program in Control Panel → adding/Remove Programs → add programs, and then click the disc or Floppy button. Then select the location of the installer and then "next".
(2) You will now enter the Welcome page of the Exchange Server Setup wizard (Install Wizard). Just click the Next button to continue.
(3) There will be "Components Selection" (Component selection) interface, you can selectively install the content you need, the default, after the installation of the file will exist in the "C:\Exchsrvr" directory, you can not change. If you don't know what you need or don't need, use the recommended "typical" (typical) approach to install it.
