I. vsts installation preparation

TFS can be installed in two modes: Single Server mode and multi-server mode. Because the logical division of TFS can be divided into data tier, application tier, and client tier.

The Single Server Mode means that DT and at are on the same machine, while the multi-server mode means that dT/at is deployed on two machines respectively.

I only need to use the multi-server deployment mode. The following preparations are required:

Hardware: two general PC machines with 1 GB memory

Software:

1. Windows Share Point services 2.0 with Service Pack 1 English version

2. Windows Server 2003 enterprise-enu

3. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 April CTP

This version of Yukon is required for vsts beta 2

4. Visual Studio 2005 team Foundation server beta 2 (English)

With the TFS client integrated development environment, only this version supports the vsts function.

First, install the two machines and update the latest patches. We named one of the machines as the GRD-TSDB, as the data tier; the other as the GRD-tsserver, as the application tier.

Ii. Installation of team Foundation Server

1. First install application tier, that is, the active location is concentrated on the GRD-TSSERVER machine. The first thing we need to do is to install the Active Directory ad on the GRD-TSSERVER and set it as the master and controller, DNS resolution also uses the local, and fixed the IP address of this machine.

2. Create a new domain in the GRD-TSSERVER: GRD-teamsystem.

3. Create several accounts for data tier/application tier. You can use the default accounts: tfssetup and tfsservice in the Microsoft Installation Guide I mentioned above. These two accounts are provided for TFs installation and service running. Record the passwords of these two accounts.

Create several accounts required by the client. This is what you wish to use. For example, I have created an account Yukon for data tier.

Add the account tfssetup/tfsservice to the domain admin Security Group.

Note: When creating an account, select "password cannot be changed" and "Password Never Expires.

7. Install IIS. Note that you must disable the FrontPage extension and enable ASP. NET.

8. Install WSS and click Next. In the end, ie will automatically open the system management site for WSS access, but errors will often occur at this time. if the config error prompt is turned on, the ASPNET account will find the directory c: \ windows \ Microsoft. net \ framework \ v2.0.50215 \ temporary ASP.. Net files has no access permissions. You can set the corresponding permissions.

9. Install the data tier layer first, because many SQL Server 2005 support is required for application tier installation.

We jumped onto the machine GRD-TSDB. Data tier installation is much easier.

First, add the GRD-TSDB to the domain GRD-teamsystem, log in with the local administrator, select the IP Option automatically, and DNS specifies the machine IP address of the GRD-TSSERVER.

Add the account GRD-teamsystem \ Yukon to the Local System Administrator group. Restart and log on to the GRD-teamsystem domain using the Yukon account we just created.

10. Install Yukon yml CTP and select all components. The default value is "Next.

After that, verify that the reporting service is available and use IE to access the service.

11. Install the data tier Component, run the Visual Studio 2005 team Foundation server beta 2 (English) installation CD, select install the team Foundation databases tier only, and go all the way to next. In this way, the DT layer will be installed successfully.

12. Next we will go to the at layer. Jump to the GRD-TSSERVER machine again, run the Visual Studio 2005 team Foundation server beta 2 (English) disc, select "Install the team Foundation application tier only" in the installation interface, one way to next, in the meantime, you will be prompted to enter the two accounts we just created, reboot system.
