Install a tomcat are twists, online data installation method is uneven, see more but dizzy, record their own installation process, easy to read later.
Which version do you choose?
Tomcat 8 requires JDK7 above, and to install 8 you need to first confirm your own JDK version (java-version). The native environment is 1.6, so choose Tomcat 7
1, enter the official website: http://tomcat.apache.org/
2, choose Binary Distributions version download.
The download process also occurred some episodes, my computer is 64-bit, so the first choice to download the 64-bit Windows zip. However, when the configuration installation is complete, the following exception is thrown when running Startup.bat:
Tomcat Can ' t load AMD 64-bit. dll on a IA 32
Indicates that the JRE environment is 32-bit. Puzzled, but I was obviously 64-bit, and later used java-version to view the JDK version.
D:\env\apache-tomcat-7.0.55\bin>java-versionjava version "1.6.0_16" Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_16 -B01) Java HotSpot (TM) Client VM (build 14.2-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
Find yourself downloading the Java version of mixed mode. The default is to assume that the JRE environment is 32bit. The TOMCAT7 download configuration for 32-bit Windows zip is then re-selected, which can be accessed normally after startup.
Download complete, tomcat configured in the environment

2, Computer-"Properties-" Advanced system Settings-"advanced-" Environment variables
In the System Variables column, create the following three variables:
In the path variable, add the%catalina_home%\bin
