Ii. wan interface cable standards
1. E1: 64k-2Mbps.
2. X25: The maximum speed is 64 kbps.
3. Frame Relay: The E1 circuit is used, and the speed can be 64 K to 2 Mbps.
4. V24: the router end is a DB50 connector, and the external network end is a 25-pin connector.
In asynchronous mode, the link layer protocol PPP is encapsulated and Network Layer Protocol IP address and IPX are supported. The maximum transmission rate is 115200bps;
In synchronous mode, link layer protocols such as X.25, frame relay, PPP, HDLC, SLIP, and LAPB can be encapsulated. IP and IPX are supported, and the highest transmission rate is 64000bps.
Transmission Distance: it is related to the transmission rate, such as 2400bps-60m; 4800bps-60m; 9600bps-30m; 19200bps-30m; 38400bps-20m; 64000bps-20m; 115200bps-10m.
5. V35: the router end is a DB50 connector, and the external network end is a 34-pin connector.
V35 cables are generally used only for synchronous data transmission. They can encapsulate link layer protocols such as X.25, frame relay, PPP, SLIP, and LAPB on interfaces, and Support Network Layer Protocol IP addresses and IPX.
V.35 cable transmission (in synchronous mode) is recognized as the highest rate of 2048000bps (2 Mbps ).
Transmission Distance: it is related to the transmission rate, such as 2400bps-1250m; 4800bps-625m; 9600bps-312m; 19200bps-156m; 38400bps-78m; 56000bps-60m; 64000bps-50m; 2048000b.
6. below are several common but important control signals in V.24 and V.35 procedures:
DTR (Data terminal ready, Data terminal ready)
DSR (Data Set Ready Data preparation)
It is mainly used to transmit negotiation information between devices.
DCD (Data Carrier Detect Data Carrier detection)
Used by devices to detect the current link status.
RTS (request to send)
CTS (clear to send clear send)
7. BRI: connector with a RJ-45 crystal head. The bandwidth customized for interface procedures is 2B + D, with a total bandwidth of 128 Kbps.
8. CE1: the available time slot range is 1 ~ 31. Time slot 0 is used for system synchronization and cannot be used for data transmission. Each logical interface features the same as the synchronous serial port. It supports link layer protocols such as PPP, frame relay, LAPB, and X.25, and network layer protocols such as IP and IPX.
The CE1/PRI router interface is a DB-15 (matrix) connector, in the network side is a BNC head or RJ-45 crystal head connector.
Currently, a conversion adapter from a 75 Euro copper axis cable to a 120 euro shielded twisted pair cable is generally used to connect the CE1/PRI cable using a RJ-45 connector.
9. PRI: 30 out of 32 time slots can be used, and the other 0 time slots are used for system synchronization. 15 time slots are used for D-Channel Transmission signaling and cannot be used at will.
The PRI interface provides a total bandwidth of 30B + D, totaling 2048 Kbps.
