Introduction of new Apple IOS9 BETA3 double security authentication mechanism

  1. How did Apple's "two-step verification" mechanism work before that?

Apple's two-step verification mechanism dates back to March 2013, as the country and region expanded and the number of services needed to provide protection (such as icloud accounts, FaceTime, and imessage) increased, and Apple introduced a strengthened version of the two-step validation mechanism.

The mechanism uses disposable code to add an additional layer of security to your Apple ID account and password, simply by sending a four-bit dynamic CAPTCHA to your preset phone number before landing. In addition, Apple provides additional protection for 14-bit recovery keys.

After the two-step authentication mechanism is enabled, you must perform additional validation through dynamic or 14-bit recovery keys before doing the following:

• Log on to "My Apple ID" and manage your account;

• Landing icloud on new equipment or icloud.com;

• Before landing imessage, Game Center or FaceTime service;

• Pre-purchase of itunes, ibooks or App Store on new equipment;

• Prior to obtaining Apple ID support from apples.

  2, what is the new "double" verification mechanism?

First, the verification code is upgraded from the existing four-digit number to a six-digit number, when you log on to your Apple ID on the iOS9 device or OS X El Capitan, or when you log on to the Web, the device you trust will automatically eject a six-digit verification code that the user must use to complete the login. The original 14-bit recovery key feature was removed.

  3, what is the trust of the equipment?

The so-called trust device here refers to an Apple device running iOS9 or OS X Capitan, and has a dual authentication feature turned on. The new authentication mechanism can be sent to you through the notification push, text information or phone voice, and other ways to send to you, more efficient.

4. How to manage my trust devices in the new system?

In IOS9, users can be set up by setting up a--icloud--account. In OS X, users are required to set up "system preference--icloud--Account Details".

? Once the validation is successful, you do not need to enter the 6-bit captcha again before doing the following:

• Empty your equipment;

• Remove the device from the list of trusted devices;

• Need to modify the password for security reasons.

  5. How do you upgrade your Apple ID to a dual authentication mechanism?

The dual-authentication feature registration is still restricted during iOS9 and the OS X El Capitan Public Preview. Starting with the BETA3 version, if a user first upgrades to the dual authentication mechanism, it may face the risk of not landing the Apple ID account. Devices that are below the iOS9 or OS X Capitan will not be able to use this feature.

  6, written in the last

The iOS9 and OS X Capitan, which is officially unveiled this fall, will be a direct part of the initial boot setup, and it is strongly recommended that you do not turn on this feature during the beta release to avoid any impact on normal use.
