As we all know, the database management system (RDBMS) stores all the important and complete data of enterprises and institutions, including employee information, customer information, equipment information, and financial information, it is the foundation for the establishment of information management systems for all enterprises and institutions. With the increasing importance of spatial information (location information) for enterprises and institutions, and the increasing amount of spatial data, the security and consistency of Spatial Information, the requirement for unified management with other data makes it an inevitable trend to store space data in relational databases. Currently, there are not many relational databases that support spatial data. Versions later than Oracle8i provide a space object management mechanism, and MapInfo can directly connect to all database versions after Oracle8i, access the spatial data, but for most other databases such as Informix, IBM DB2, SQL Server, MapInfo provides a middleware product saptialware, it is used to solve the problem that the space data is stored in the relational database and can be managed.
Overview
Spatialware is an efficient storage, management, and maintenance space data management tool. It is a complete server-based space information management system. Spatialware (spatialware Forum: http://www.hellomap.com.cn /) allows easy and seamless integration of spatial data with all data of advanced commercial database management systems such as IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 8i and Informix, supports centralized storage and management of large volumes of space data. MapInfo spatialware implements SQL-based spatial access, analysis, and modeling in the database environment to improve customers' business analysis capabilities.
Software Composition
MapInfo spatialware mainly includes:
Spatial Data Objects: provides storage mechanisms and necessary functions to facilitate the storage, retrieval, and maintenance of Spatial Data. At the same time, data types can also be derived from other useful data types by the client software. The ry stored in the data type exists in two or three dimensional form. Data Types and SQL functions are based on iso SQL, multimedia standards, and Open GIS standards.
Spatial indexes: spatial indexes are implemented using the range-tree (r tree) technology of index spatial data. The R-tree index is suitable for distributed data types, especially spatial data. optimization results can be obtained without data knowledge.
Spatial operations: contains more than 150 extensions that retrieve data from tables by computation or filter data by ry. Extensions include the content specified by the ISO standard and other operators required by MapInfo, such as coordinate system support, distance, center, and convex hull calculation.
Features
Cross-platform support

Supports Sun Solaris, Windows NT or 2000, and HP-UX.
Flexible data upload and exchange
Data upload can be completed in two ways: Adding ASCII data to the database using standard SQL commands; uploading tab data to the database using the easy loader tool provided by MapInfo. Data in other formats, such as DXF, DWG, and e00, can be converted to a tab by the universal converter provided by MapInfo and uploaded to the database.
Standard SQL for data access
Use standard SQL statements to create, modify, insert, delete, and query spatial data. This reduces training costs and reduces development costs.
Meets ACID Testing Requirements
A (Atomicity): Submit all or null to ensure data integrity;
C (consistency): consistency constraints for system legal checks;
I (isolation): data can be accessed by other users only after it is submitted and consistency constraints are met;
D (durability): Once data is submitted, it will be stored together with hardware and software features.
