Now we all choose the Compact flash disk as a removable storage device, but if it should be lost, I am afraid it may lead to loss of data, but the use of Third-party encryption software is rather cumbersome, after all, installation, registration is not easy thing. In fact, if you have started Win 7, you can use BitLocker to add "native" encryption to the flash drive, and the operation is quite simple.
Orderly fast Encryption flash drive
In fact, as early as Windows Vista, the operating system has provided the security features called BitLocker, but only in the enterprise and the flagship version of the application. The BitLocker feature of Win 7 is more powerful and users do not need to make any additional settings (such as modifying Group Policy). Just log on to the system as an administrator, connect the flash disk that you want to encrypt correctly to your computer, open the Computer window, and follow the steps of the win7 system download:
1th Step: Right click on the flash drive, select "Enable BitLocker" from the shortcut menu, and the BitLocker Driver Encryption wizard will pop up, please choose unlock mode as needed, choose "Unlock drive with Password", enter two consecutive password, and click "Next" button to continue.
Step 2nd: You can choose to save the recovery key to a file (lest you forget), or you can print the recovery key, and if you choose the former, we'll get a filename similar to "BitLocker recovery key 0b374660-8d1d-4b3f-b96e-6cf027dda9e5.txt text file, click the Next button to continue.
3rd step: After entering the next window, click the "Start Encryption" button, Win 7 will officially start to encrypt the flash drive, encryption time depends mainly on the size of the memory disk and file capacity, patiently wait a moment to complete the encryption.
Remember to use flash drive after password decryption
Now, we will find that this encrypted flash disk device has changed a bit, and this will become a lock icon, which means that the file on the flash drive has been successfully encrypted, and the data is secured.
When you need to use, we need to double-click the letter, we will pop up a dialog box, the "type password to unlock this drive" text box to enter the correct unlock password, click the lower right corner of the "unlock" button, and then you can do normal file read and write operations. If you don't want to enter a password every time you use an encrypted flash drive, you can check the "automatically unlock from now on this computer" checkbox when you enter your password, and you will be able to use this encrypted flash drive directly on this computer later, but you still need to enter the correct password if you use it on another computer.
If you are in Windows Vista or Windows XP operating system, you can also use the flash drive encrypted in Win 7, the flash drive will also have a lock icon to appear, but each time you need to right-click to select "BitLocker to go Reader", Then enter the correct password to unlock. However, in Windows Vista or Windows XP systems, using the "BitLocker" flash drive under Win 7, even after decryption, only limited operations including viewing, copying, and so on, cannot be performed, primarily for security reasons.
Turn off the encryption feature
If you need to remove BitLocker encryption protection, you must still enter the win 7 operating system, go to the Control Panel, select system and secure →bitlocker Drive Encryption, and then click "Turn off BitLocker" on the right. button, click the "Decrypt Drive" button, then follow the prompts to turn off the encryption function, interested friends can try.
