First, insert page break
When content such as text or graphics fills a page, Word inserts an automatic page break and starts a new page. If you want to force pagination at a specific location, you can insert a manual page break to ensure that chapter headings always start on a new page. First, place the insertion point where you want to insert a page break, and then either of the following methods can insert a manual page break:
1. Press Ctrl+enter key combination.
2. Perform "insert" → "separator", open the Separator dialog box, click Page Break, OK.
Inserting column breaks
After you have columns for a document (or some paragraphs), the Word document automatically columns in the appropriate place, and if you want a content to appear at the top of the bottom column, you can do so by inserting a column break, which is (for the rendering effect, the first paragraph to be manipulated into two columns):
1. In print layout view, place the insertion point in a new column.
2. Perform "insert" → "separator" To open the Separator dialog box.
3. In the Separator box, select the column break item and click OK.
Third, insert line feed
Normally, word wraps automatically when the text reaches the right margin of the document page. Select line breaks in the Separator dialog box, click OK (or press shift+enter directly) to force line breaks at the insertion point (the newline character appears as a gray "↓"). Unlike pressing ENTER directly, this method produces new rows that will still be part of the current segment.
Iv. inserting section Breaks
Sections are part of a document. Before inserting a section break, Word treats the entire document as a section. You need to create a new section when you need to change attributes such as line numbers, columns, or page footers, margins, and so on. To insert a section break, follow these steps:
1. Position the insertion point to the beginning of the new section.
2. Perform "insert" → "separator" To open the Separator dialog box.
3. In the section break type, select one of the following.
Next: Select this, and the entire contents of the cursor at the current position will be moved to the next page.
Continuous: Select this to add a section break at the insertion point where word starts at the current page.
Even pages: The contents of the cursor after the current position will go to the next even page, Word automatically empty a page between even pages.
Odd pages: The contents of the cursor after the current position are transferred to the next odd page, and Word automatically leaves a page blank between odd pages.
4. Click "OK" button.
Note: If you don't see the separator flag in print layout view, you can click Show/Hide edit marks on the Standard toolbar, or switch to normal view, select the separator or place the cursor before the separator, and then press the DELETE key to remove the separator character.
