IRC Services and Freenode

Next, I'll explain how to use the Freenode server for chat.

First install the client, here Select Weechat:

Installation environment is Ubuntu 16.04

Install Command:

sudo apt-get install Weechat

After installation, the direct input weechat can enter the interface:

Then select Add Freenode server:

/server Add Freenode Chat.freenode.Net

Then connect to the server:

/connect freenode

Then you register your username and password:

First register user name:

/nick Usrename

Then add a password and a mailbox:

/msg NickServ Register < current nickname password > [e-mail address]

After the completion of the addition, the mailbox will receive a confirmation message, follow the message instructions to complete the registration.

Then join the channel:

/join #XXX

Exit Weechat:

/exit

Re-login and directly/connet freenode connect to the server.

Then switch user name:/nick username

And then verify identity:

/msg NickServ identify <password>.

After success, enter the channel:/join #rtems
