It Project Management

Managing a project is no different from directing a movie, coaching a professional baseball team, or taking a shuttle flight around the Earth. For project management, you will be as excited and excited as the Director, Coach, or astronaut. IT project management is very exciting in the eyes of some people, but it seems as boring as a waste of water.

In some organizations, all tasks and jobs that require personnel management are considered as project management. This is a wrong opinion! Project management is the ability to manage time-ordered tasks in a column to achieve a specific goal. Some tasks can be completed only after other tasks are completed, while others can be completed in parallel. Some tasks require personal abilities, while others require the participation of everyone to relieve the burden. Technically speaking, a project is a temporary effort to create a unique product or provide a unique service. A project is a business that exceeds normal operation. Assume that a company is developing customer applications for other organizations. The operation is a series of activities of the project, and the enterprise that completes the project is the execution organization.

A project is a special limited task that will be completed. It is a general term for a number of jobs that meet a series of specific goals within a certain period of time. Therefore, projects are unique, temporary, and resource-intensive. A project life cycle is a collection of projects. Most projects include four phases: start stage, plan stage, implementation stage, and end stage.

Project Management applies various resources to projects through the cooperation of stakeholders of the project to achieve the objectives of the project and satisfy the needs of stakeholders to varying degrees. Of course, not all stakeholders get benefits through the project, but also those who carry out the project and their benefits are impaired. To carry out this project and conduct project management, we must ensure and expand the positive interests of stakeholders and eliminate or reduce the negative impact of the project on stakeholders. The five processes corresponding to project management are initiation, planning, implementation, control, and termination. Project management is an activity throughout the life cycle. Project Management exists at every stage of IT product development.

Before starting a project, you must determine the project requirements. Project-related personnel need to conduct requirement analysis. project-related personnel include department managers, customers, directors, end users, or others with control over the project, of course this is for most projects. Based on the materials provided by key project personnel, especially the project requirements, project restrictions, project time and cost objectives, the project manager collects and organizes requirements, and establishes a project plan, confirm that the project is submitted to the product. Once a project is determined, it has a clear project start and end date. After determining the target to be completed, a set small target or task will be set every day.

So how can we know the final result of the project? The relevant person in charge of the group will give their team members a meeting every day to test or discuss the completion of the task on the day. The person in charge of the project needs to check the completion of the project after a period of time. We must not rush to start IT projects, but we should have a plan for IT projects with the only target task to be completed! Just like archaeologists want to go through the trap maze and various complicated organs for final research. In movies, there will always be some dead bones in the maze, and those who fail to reach the deepest part of the maze will be ended by organ traps. Before moving to the target of a specific project, we should have imagined a clear and concise way to achieve this goal. To successfully complete a project, you should have a clear understanding of the delivery results.

We need to know why this project is implemented. The management team needs to fully support the project. In addition to summing up the tasks during each meeting, we also made some amendments and suggestions to the overall goal. Of course, these must be implemented without changing the overall project! If there are some changes every day, and these changes will have a huge impact on the final goal, the completion of the project will be affected, and may eventually lead to project collapse! When the project is ready, we still need to plan the project. Then, you need to work with the management, prepare the budget, create a work breakdown structure, and establish and implement a project plan. Of course, the specific project will have more detailed preliminary work.

Maybe I think it is a waste of time to build a series of plans but I haven't started a real project? If this is the case, it will be wrong! If you do not have these steps in the early stage, your project will inevitably encounter more processes in the specific implementation process, and the project may be put on hold! It's like building a house. It's impossible for you to get cement and bricks, and you can start to work. Your drawings, job assignments, and more details. The overall implementation process of IT projects will be relatively smooth only after careful and complex work has been completed in the early stage. The significance of IT project management is also here! IT project management is sometimes like a bad summer trip. When you think you are heading for the right direction, you may already go farther and farther on the wrong road! No matter how much research has been done, how many development processes have been tested, and how carefully the plan is developed, no one can predict what will happen in the future.

Project Management May and is often due to an error in the direction at the beginning of the project due to an accident or design. In some cases, a good method or product may be found in the early stages of implementation. In other cases, a change request from the management or customer may change the direction of project implementation. "Any change, even in a positive direction, is always accompanied by setbacks and pain ." For IT projects, changes must be made due to their natural attributes. Patching, new software versions, defects, security issues, and new requirements of project-related personnel are all reasons for changes.

Change control is an internal management process. The project manager can prevent anyone (including the management) from changing the delivery specifications and requirements of the project without justified reasons. Change control requires that the requester must have sufficient reasons to request a change, and then evaluate the impact of the change on all aspects of the project. If any comments on the project can be put forward during group meetings and discussions, but the original task plan cannot be changed during the project completion process, you must pass the group discussion and the approval of the project owner to avoid errors in the overall task!

Changes to deliverables of a project may require additional resources, additional funds, additional time, or three of them to complete the project. A solid investigation of the requested changes will provide evidence of new requirements for deliverables. If changes are caused by internal reasons, such as lack of attention, resource changes, incomplete work units, or incorrect investments, the project manager must continue to take the lead to correct these problems.

Project Quality is the ability of the project to meet customer needs. However, a level is the sorting or grading of one thing or service. Whether it is developing a product or a service, it is always a process to complete. Project Quality Management is an activity that you need to perform in all activities-from the product concept stage to the release stage-with your product quality assurance.

The quality stage in project management can be divided into five parts: initiation process, planning process, execution process, control process and ending process. When the project overcomes the difficulties and obstacles and passes through each process group, you need a system to check the process quality of the project. This system is verified. For example, a project that develops applications for an enterprise has several milestones in its implementation process. The ultimate goal of this project is to allow users to submit human resources management forms through the company's website. In this way, the Project Manager can check whether the work in each stage is consistent with the final submitted product. If the work at a stage is inconsistent with the final product submission, the project manager must immediately take corrective measures to ensure that the work is back on track.

To sum up, in addition to the work in the development phase, there is also a lot of work to be done and necessary in the project management aspect! In the face of difficulties and challenges, IT project managers often fail to make wrong decisions. Often, in the face of complex problems, the response time is limited. If there is no standby plan, once an emergency occurs, in the absence of enterprise support, the project manager had to make a wrong decision to worry about the major consequences.

Project management is definitely not something that can be ignored at will. It is necessary to set up a series of plans and implement them according to the plan as much as possible! If the plan is always postponed, the final project will be affected. It is also necessary to adjust the plan as appropriate! It is undoubtedly necessary for a team to complete an IT project. Everyone in the team must play their own role. This is not just about your contribution to the project, in addition, the cooperation of the entire team also requires the cooperation of everyone. Any delay in the project or disagreement with the team may lead to a huge deviation in the project's completion time and quality! Finally, after the project is completed, we will be proud of the success of the project. When we look back at the entire project process, we will be pleased with the planning at the beginning of the project! This is also the necessity of project management!
