1 J-link V8 Firmware Burning Instructions
J-link is used in the process, if the internal firmware is accidentally damaged or lost, please refer to the following procedure instructions, re-burn the Jlink firmware.
1.1 Installing firmware burning software
- Please download the at91-isp download software at Atmel official website.
Software: http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/tools_card.asp?tool_id=3883
In the Web page that opens, download the software shown in the Red box.
- Installing the downloaded install At91-isp v1.13.exe software
Double-click Install At91-isp v1.13.exe to run, select the default settings, after installation, the following two icons are generated on the desktop.
1.2 Erase the chip and enter the programming mode
- Open the Jlink shell and see the Jlink internal circuit as shown.

The two vias of a in a short connection are about 35 seconds.
- Use a USB cable to connect the Jlink with the PC to provide jlink working power.
- Then unplug the USB cable between the Jlink and P C and disconnect the two vias from the a position.
- In a short connection, two vias at B.
- Connect the Jlink with the PC using a USB cable, unplug the USB cable for at least 30 seconds, and stop powering the Jlink (note: Make sure that the B in the figure is in a reliable termination state).
- Disconnects the short connection at B in the diagram.
1.3 Updating Firmware
- Double-click the Sam-prog v2.4 icon on the desktop to run the Sam-prog v2.4 Burn software and set it as shown.
- Connect the Jlink V8 to the PC via a USB cable. At this point, the Write Flash button in the Sam-prog v2.4 software becomes valid. (Note: Open the Sam-prog v2.4 and connect the Jlink with the PC).
- Click the Write Flash button to burn the firmware, after the burn is complete, the Active Connection: will become 1.
- Unplug the USB cable between the Jlink and the PC.
At this point, Jlink V8 firmware has been updated, under normal circumstances, the connection between the computer and Jlink V8, Jlink v light will blink, and then Evergreen. Please refer to the Jlink V8 user manual for debugging simulations using Jlink V8.
Double-click the Sam-prog v2.9 icon on the desktop, select \jlink\arm0, then select the Jlink model, add Jlink v8.bin
