1. download. The downloaded file name is
J2sdk_rj4_2 _ <version> -windows-586.exe.
<Version> indicates the version number of the current download, for example:
J2SDK_1_4_2_05-windows-586.exe (take this as an example below)
2. installation. Run the download file directly. We recommend that you set the installation directory to the root directory of the d drive and the root directory of j2sdk to D: \ j2sdk1.4.2 _ 05 after installation. It can also be installed in other custom directories. After installation, the directory tree structure is:

3. Configure environment variables.
1) Confirm that the Windows account is an administrator-level account.
2) Right-click [my computer]-select [properties] in the pop-up menu-select [advanced] in the pop-up dialog box-click [environment variables]
3) The following operations are performed in [system variables]. skip this step if the system variables already have the same variable name and contain the same variable value; if the system variable already has the same variable name but does not contain the same variable value, add the variable value (separated by ";"). If the system variable does not have the same variable name, perform the following operations to [Create] The variable name and assign the variable value.
[New] variable name: java_home variable value: D: \ j2sdk1.4.2 _ 05
[New] variable name: PATH variable value: % java_home % \ bin
[New] variable name: classpath variable value:
