KDE2.1 includes the Chinese patch written by Rigel, A linuxforum member, for KDE 2.1. At the same time, Wan Jian, the owner of the KDE Chinese translation team, corrected the problematic po.
In this way, KDE 2.1.1 becomes the first KDE version that supports Simplified Chinese without patching.
After receiving the message, I immediately downloaded the package kde2.1.1. I used the redhat 7.1B2 version and did not provide the redhat 7 rpm package on the website. I only used the bz2 package.
I have installed the rpm package for the qt-2.2.4, so you can start the installation directly, other comrades are best to use the qt-2.3
1. Install kde2.1.1
First, copy the downloaded bz2 package to/usr/local/kde and decompress the package with bunzip2 and tar.
Such as: bunzip2 kdelibs-2.1.1.tar.bz2
Tar xvf kdelibs-2.1.1.tar
Note: To install kde, you must install kdelibs and kdebase. You are strongly advised to install kdesupport. The other options are optional. Of course, I have installed all of them. My machine is celon 600,128 M, it took two nights for compilation to complete. Please wait for the rpm package if you are in trouble !!
Modify ~ /. Bash_profile
PATH =/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin: $ PATH: $ HOME/bin:/usr/local/bin: /usr/lib/qt-2.2.4/bin:/usr/local/kde/bin
BASH_ENV = $ HOME/. bashrc
USERNAME = "root"
QTDIR = "/usr/lib/qt-2.2.4"
KDEDIR = "/usr/local/kde /"
Export USERNAME BASH_ENV PATH QTDIR KDEDIR
Export LANG = zh_CN.GB2312
Export LC_ALL = zh_CN.GB2312
Export XMODIFIERS = @ im = Chinput
Go to the/usr/local/kde/kdelibs directory.
./Configure
Make
Make install
It takes a lot of time to compile the program!
Compile other software packages and then modify them ~ /. Xinitrc
Rm ~ /. Xinitrc
Cat>. xinitrc
Startkde
Ctrl-D
2. Install the Chinese font release
I like simplicity, So I directly use some rpm packages of bluepoint linux 2.0
Rpm-Uhv bluepoint-release-2.0-1BP.noarch.rpm
Rpm-Uhv XFree86-zhfont-3.3.5-1.i386.rpm
People who need the software can download it at http://www.linuxaid.com.cn/engineer/hubertzou.
Close xfs, modify/etc/X11/XF86Config-4:
Section "Files"
# FontPath "unix //: 7100"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc: unscaled"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75 dpi: unscaled"
FontPath "/usr/share/zhfont/X11 /"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/chinese /"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc /"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75 dpi /"
EndSection
3. Install Chinput 3.0.1
Download To chinput-3.0.1.tar.gz
Pth-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
Unicon2-im.tar.gz
Zh_CN
First install pth
Rpm-Uhv pth-1.3.7-1.i386.rpm
Then, tar zxvf unicon2-im.tar.gz
Mv unicon2/usr/lib/
Compile the new locale and run it as root: localedef-f GB2312-I zh_CN zh_CN.gb2312. If no error message is displayed, the compilation is successful. The zh_CN.gb2312 directory is added under/usr/lib/locale.
Are you sure the/usr/lib/gconv-modules file contains the alias GB2312-1980 // EUC-CN // line,
If not, add it. Already exists in redhat7.1b2
"Alias GB2312 // EUC-CN //"
& Quot; alias csGB2312 // EUC-CN // & quot //"
"Alias CN-GB // EUC-CN //"
But I still add "alias GB2312-1980 // EUC-CN //"
Okay. Let's start installing Chinput.
Tar zxvf Chinput-3.0.1.tar.gz
Cd Chinput-3.0.1
Make
Make install
Go to usr/lib
Ln-s libstdc ++-2-libc6.1-2.9.0.so libstdc ++-libc6.1-2. so.3
Modify the/usr/lib/ZWinPro/Chinput. ad file again:
Because XFree86 does not have its own BIG5 code body, if you do not need to enter BIG5 characters, do the following for Chinput. ad:
Adjustment:
...
Chinput. gblocale = zh_CN.gb2312
Chinput. big5locale = zh_CN.gb2312
...
Chinput. gbfont =-*-medium-r-normal -- 16-*-c-*-gb2312.1980-0
Chinput. big5font =-*-medium-r-normal -- 16-*-c-*-gb2312.1980-0
Note: spaces are not allowed in the font definition of Chinput. ad. This is due to the restrictions of Chinput.
4. Adjust kde
After restarting, use startx to enter kde. Modify the character set, change the character set, and exit before entering kde.
Everything is normal, and all menus show Chinese characters, but there are always some minor problems. It's a problem with QT, and it's pretty good.
