Add video and Audio

When you add a video or audio file to a slide, it plays only when the slide is displayed in the presentation.

Perform any of the following actions:

Drag the media file from the Finder to any location on the slide or to an image placeholder.

Click Media in the toolbar, select photo, music, or movie, and then select the file.

Adjust media playback

You can specify whether the media is looping through the presentation and set when the media starts to play.

1, select the audio or video files on the slide.

2. In the audio or movie panel of the format checker, do any of the following:

Trim audio or video: Click the display triangle next to edit audio or edit movie, and then drag the Trim slider to change the length of the audio or video.

Set Playback: Choose an option from the Repeat pop-up menu. Select Loop to have the media play until the forward slide. Select cycle back to let first play forward and then play backwards.

Set the time when the media starts playing: Select the "Start the media on time" checkbox to start playback at your point in time. Deselect this check box if you want the media to play automatically when the slides are displayed.

Adjust Playback Volume: Drag the Volume slider.

Add a sound track to a presentation

When you add a sound track to a presentation, the audio starts playing at the beginning of the presentation. If the slides already have audio or video, the sound track will also play on those slides.

Files that are added as sound tracks are always played from the beginning.

1. In the audio panel of the Document Inspector, click , and then select a song or playlist.

2, choose an option from the Sound track pop-up menu:

OFF: The sound track does not play.

Play once: The sound track plays throughout the presentation, but does not repeat when the presentation is longer than the sound track.

Loop: The sound track repeats until the presentation finishes.

If you want to play a presentation on a different computer or device, choose Keynote > Preferences (from the "Keynote" menu at the top of your computer screen), click General, and then select "Copy audio and movies to your document." This will ensure that the sound track is always available for playback.

Some media files are protected by copyright law. Some downloaded media may also be played only on the downloaded device. DRM (Digital rights Management)-protected music cannot be added to the presentation sound track. Make sure that the computer you are using has permission to play all the media files contained in the presentation.
