Laptop Set WiFi hotspot Tutorial

Prior preparation:

1. A laptop with a wired network (or a desktop with a wireless connection)

Detailed steps:

1. First confirm that your wireless network card can be used, and then press the key combination "Win key +r" to open "run", as shown in the following figure:

2. Enter "CMD" in the Run dialog box and click OK to open the Command Prompt window

3. In the command prompt, enter "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=test key=123456" and then enter (note: The key value here must be above 8 characters or it will create a failure). The system will automatically create a WiFi hotspot, as shown in the following illustration:

4. Right-click the network icon at the bottom right of the computer and select "Open Network and Sharing Center", then click "Change Adapter Settings" On the left, as shown in the following figure, you will see a more than one network connection.

5. Right-click on the local connection and click Properties, as shown in the following figure:

6. Switch to "sharing", in the first box tick, in the selection box below select "Wireless Connection 2", OK. As shown in the following illustration:

7. Also enter "Netsh wlan start hostednetwork" at the command prompt, and the WiFi hotspot is turned on, as shown in the following figure:

8. Enter "netsh wlan stop hostednetwork" at the command prompt, and then turn off the WiFi hotspot. As shown in the following illustration:
