In addition to text, the most important design element on a Web page is the image. On the one hand, the application of the image to make the Web page more beautiful, interesting, on the other hand, the image itself is an important means of conveying information. Compared with the text, it is intuitive and vivid, it can easily express those words can not express the message, easy to understand and accept the viewer.

1. Format of the image
The web typically uses two types of image formats: GIF and JPEG. In addition, there are two types of image formats that are suitable for network communication but are not widely used: PNG and MNG.


2. The form of the image
As with typography, static images are used in Web page typesetting in four forms: square, back, bleed, and these three forms of combination.

(1) Square chart that is the shape of a straight line border to standardize and limit, is one of the most common, most concise, the most simple form. The square chart makes the image content to be more prominent and blends the main image with the environment, can convey the theme thought completely, is full of infection. The layout of the page with a square chart gives a steady, credible, rigorous, rational, solemn and quiet feeling, but sometimes it seems dull and inflexible.


(2) The background image will be removed, leaving only the theme image. Back to the bottom of the graphic free and prominent, more personality, and therefore impressive. The layout of the page, relaxed, lively, dynamic, and graphic combination of nature, giving people a sense of affinity. But also easy to create messy and not the whole feeling.


(3) Bleed image of one side or several edges full of pages, there are outward expansion and stretching potential. Generally used to convey lyrical or motion information of the page, because not restricted by the border, feeling more close to people, easy to emotional and dynamic play.
