On July 15, May 3, Beijing time, analyst David Utter wrote that the bid of the News Group's $5 billion attempt to acquire Dow Jones may result in a new round of bidding competition, with rumors that Google is also one of the potential competitors.
In the report, Bloomberg News mentioned the names of Google and other large companies.
According to the report, the news group may open its doors to other bidders, including General Electric, the owner of CNBC news, Gannett, the Washington Post Company, the poster of USA Today, and even Google.
If Google is really interested in this purchase, analyst John Battelle believes that Google will adopt a managed approach. He said that the only suitable way for Google is to adopt a public service attitude that places the Wall Street Journal in a non-profit hosting state.
Although such behavior is highly risky, there is no precedent, such as the British Guardian. This hosting method will prevent the editors and reporters of The Wall Street Journal from being influenced by the outside world.
