List-style-type defines a list of small icons, with a number of values, and the browser to its support of varying degrees, a lot of effects ie is not visible. I have nothing to see what effect they have, one to too much, borrowed the light rain of JS, modified to work in Ff,ie,opera. Everybody go first. look at the List_style_type style.
