Low-level formatting
Low-level format is to divide the blank disk into the cylinder and track, and then divide the track into several sectors, each sector is divided into the identification part ID, gap gaps and data areas, and so on. Visible, low-level formatting is a work before advanced formatting, and low-level formatting can only target one hard disk and cannot support a single partition. Each hard drive is at the factory, the hard drive manufacturer is low-level formatted, so usually the user no longer need to do low-level formatting operations. Low-level format is a kind of lossy operation, which has a certain negative effect on hard disk life.
Advanced formatting
Advanced formatting is the marking of disks based on a certain partition format. Generate the boot area information, initialize the Space allocation table, callout logic bad, verify the data, etc., so that the operating system can read and write to the disk, so the advanced format of the method varies depending on the operating system, or because of the different partition format. Advanced formatting is a normal read and write operation on the disk and does not adversely affect the hard drive.
Quick Format
Quick format is a kind of advanced format, compared to the ordinary format, it eliminates the validation data loop, and assume that all sectors of the disk are read and write correctly, does not mark bad sectors. It increases the speed of formatting, but at the expense of reliability. Quickly formatted hard disk, you can use the Disk Inspection tool to scan the disk surface to verify the data, to ensure the reliable data access.
Formatting is like giving a blank sheet of white paper to make it easier to use this piece of paper. Just low-level format dozen lattice larger, can not be directly used, and advanced format to play the grid is the manuscript, you may directly use.
