Sqlplus is the preferred client for connecting to Oracle. Its advantages are self-evident. However, it also has some minor problems, such as the inability to move the cursor using the cursor key, or the inability to display the previous command or statement. This article uses rlwrap to improve these small problems.
From http://utopia.knoware.nl /~ Hlub/UCK/rlwrap/download the rlwrap package. decompress the package and follow the steps in the install file to install the package.
Installation
./Configure
Make
Make install
Define aliases for ease of use
[Oracle @ Oracle ~] $ VI. bashrc
#. Bashrc
Alias sqlp = 'maid sqlplus'
......
Now you can use sqlplus to enter Oracle, just as rlwrap has never been before.
