Make your "Add/delete programs" full of Personality

As we all know, computer users can use "Add/Delete" in the control panel Program Add or delete programs. But, do you know? You can also use the Group Policy or registry to restrict the "Add/delete programs" function, and enhance the "Add/delete programs" function by modifying files. Why don't you believe it? 1. Restrict the "Add/delete programs" Function

If you share a computer with others, and you do not want others to add or delete programs at will, so we can limit some functions of "Add/delete programs" to achieve our goal.

Method 1: Group Policy Method

(1) Click Start> Run, type gpedit. MSC in the run dialog box, and press enter to open the Group Policy Editor.

(2) Expand "Local Computer Policy"> "user configuration"> "management template"> "Control Panel"> "Add/delete programs" in sequence, you can select the following options in the right pane, as shown in Figure 1 ):

1. Delete the "Add/delete programs" program;
2. Hide the "change/delete programs" page;
3. Hide the Add new program page;
4. Hide the Windows component addition/Deletion page;
5. Hide the add program from CD-ROM or floppy disk option;
6. Hide the "add a program from Microsoft" option;
7. Hide the "add program from network" option;
8. Open the "component wizard ";
9. Delete the support information;
10. Specify the default category for "Add new program.

You can customize the "add or delete programs" item by modifying the policy items in the right pane. Double-click an option of the policy to be changed. The "attribute" Window of the policy is displayed, and the policy is changed from "Not Configured" to "enabled ", as shown in figure 2, click OK to enable the corresponding features.

Leave a blank line or return to the vehicle. After the input is completed and confirmed to be correct, save it as "diycontrlpad. Reg", as shown in figure 3 ). Note: For any file name, the extension must be Reg. In addition, "//" is followed by a comment that the author adds for your convenience. You do not need to enter it during input. When the value of the preceding key values is "00000001", it indicates that the value is disabled or hidden. To enable this function, you only need to set the key value to "00000000, with the difference between "0" and "1", you can customize the corresponding functions of the "Add/delete programs" component.

2. Customize the Registry file as required and double-click it to import it to the Registry. Restart the computer to make the settings take effect.

3. Enhance the "Add/delete programs" Function

Most users, especially individual users, want to "Add/delete programs" as powerful as possible to facilitate their own management of applications and Windows Components. For example, when we try to delete some components that come with windows (such as Windows Messenger, netmeeting, and games that come with the system, related options cannot be found in the "Add/delete programs" component. In fact, these options exist, but they are hidden by the system. Now let's make all the hidden options visible to enhance the "Add/delete programs" function.

1. open the resource manager and find "sysoc." in the "X: \ windows \ inf" directory. INF file (X is the partition of the operating system, Please modify it by yourself), open it with the Notepad program.

2. Delete the "hide" text next to the project to be displayed in the "Add/delete programs" component, so that they can be found in "Add/delete Windows Components. For example, if you want to display "Windows Messenger" in "Add/delete Windows Components" to delete this option, you can set "sysoc. the following line in the INF file "MSMSGS = msgrocm. DLL, ocentry, MSMSGS. remove "hide" from INF, hide, 7 ", as shown in Figure 4 (figure 4), that is, change it to" MSMSGS = msgrocm. DLL, ocentry, MSMSGS. INF, 7.

3. Follow the steps in step 2 to clear "hide" one by one for the other options you want to display in "Add/delete Windows Components. For example: AutoUpdate ---- automatic update, games ---- games that come with windows, mswordpad ---- Wordpad, etc. You can explore the rest.
