The next time you listen to someone talking about productivity, whether or not the person who listens carefully uses the word "Personnel adjustment" is likely not to mention this word. Over the years, I have heard about productivity discussions or seen hundreds of articles on this. We have never met an expert who talked about how people adjust this topic. But what is the significance of talking only about one and not about another? The following describes some typical tasks for the company to improve productivity:
Forcing people to work overtime, the mechanization of the product development process, the compromise on product quality, and the standardization of the production process. Any of these measures will potentially reduce the work interest and satisfaction. Therefore, the process of improving productivity is to take risks and increase the flow of talent. This does not mean that you cannot improve productivity without paying for the flow of talent. This only means that you need to consider the flow of talent whenever you start to achieve higher productivity. Otherwise, your "improvement" will offset the loss of key talents.
Most companies do not even retain statistics on personnel adjustments. In fact, no one can tell you what the cost of replacing an experienced employee is. And whenever productivity is taken into account, it seems that the flow of talent does not exist or is free of charge. The Data general project is an example. This project is the victory of the Spanish Theory: A group of workaholic project team members work overtime without end-to-end, in order to push productivity to a level that has never been heard. At the end of the project, all developers actually resigned. What is the cost of doing so? No one can even use equations. Productivity must be defined as profit divided by cost. Profit is an observability of dollar deposits and revenue at work, and cost is the total cost, including replacing employees who are exhausted by work. * Using tools, improving processes, and increasing engagement are an effective way to increase productivity. Overtime can only be a temporary remedy and has a negative effect. The key to working overtime to fix the problem is prevention.
