Microsoft co-founder returns to software market to create email company

Xiant's only investor, Vulcan, said in a statement that since Alan left Microsoft in 1983, it was one of the few moves in the software market. Through the Vulcan company, Allen now has several sports teams and real estate companies. Allen lost $ billions of in his investment in Charter Communications, the cable operator, who filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year.

Xiant can archive information based on the user's past archiving settings. It also lets users keep track of new information based on topics, so users can track information about a particular topic without being distracted by other messages.
