Use scvmm 2012 SP1 to convert virtual machines on Vmware hosts to hyper-V platform 2.1 application scenarios
This solution uses System Center 2012-Virtual Machine Manager (vmm) to convert virtual machines on Vmware hosts to hyper-V using virtual machines to virtual machines (V2V, this application scenario requires two management platforms: scvmm and vcenter server. Because you need to uninstall vmtools and shut down virtual machines during the conversion process, you must back up data before conversion.
2.2 list of Virtual Machine conversions supported
Vmm (scvmm 2012 SP1) supports the conversion of V2V machines for virtual machines running on VMWare ESX of the following versions:
- ESX/esxi 3.5 Update 5
- ESX/4.0 esxi
- ESX/4.1 esxi
- ESX/5.1 esxi
- VMware vcenter Server 4.1
- VMware vcenter Server 5.1
Supported vmdk disk types include:
- Conventional vmdk files: vmfs and monolithicflat
- The vmdk file used to access the physical disk: vmfspassthroughrawdevicemap
- Snapshot: vmfssparse

2.6 Summary
This solution allows you to quickly and conveniently switch a vmwarevm to hyper-V. However, this solution requires a management platform such as scvmm and vcenter server in the environment. At the same time, the guest operating system must uninstall and shut down VMware Tools. It is suitable for users who have both products.
