When our Linux system fails to boot, it is often necessary to go into single-user mode to modify some of the configuration files, or to adjust some parameters. However, after entering the single-user mode, our/file system is read-only mode, can not be modified, then we need to use a command: mount–o remount,rw/This command to make our/path file system into a readable mode, so that the free modification can be achieved.
For example:
Increased the/etc/mtab
/dev/sdb1/install ext3 RW 0 0
/etc/fstab
Label=/install/install ext3 Defaults 1 2
Then the system restarts: it does not come up, prompt
Give root password for maintenance
(or type control-d to continue:)
After entering the root password, you enter the system and want to remove the added content. But the hint is read-only. Do not allow modification
Use the following method
Mount-o remount, RW/
Because root directory/is mounted inread only mode. Type follwing command, then should is able to editrc.sysint script.
Now go and modify the Mtab/fstab file. Last reboot, the system started successfully
Mount-o REMOUNT,RW/Large use in single-user mode
