(4) FDDI Interface

The NIC of this interface is applicable to the FDDI (Optical Fiber Distribution Data Interface) network. This network has a bandwidth of Mbps, but it uses an optical fiber as the transmission medium, therefore, the interface of this FDDI interface Nic is also fiber interface. With the emergence of fast Ethernet, its speed superiority no longer exists, but its disadvantages of using expensive optical fiber as the transmission medium have not changed, so it is still very rare.

(5) ATM interface

This type of interface Nic is used in an ATM (asynchronous transmission mode) optical fiber (or twisted pair) network. It provides a physical transmission speed of up to 155 Mbps.
