Compared to Flash MX, the Flash MX 2004 drawing Tool has only a small change: the original rectangular tool adds a new tool-Polystar (multilateral star). With this new tool, you can easily draw polygons and stars. Now let's try this new tool.
1. Click on the Rectangle tool in the toolbox, hold down the left mouse button, and then select the Polystar tool from the pop-up menu.
2. If the properties panel is not open, select Window > Properties (Window > Properties) to open the Properties panel.
3. In the Properties panel, set the stroke color to black and the fill color to red.
4. Click the Options button in the Properties panel to eject the tool settings (Tool setting) dialog box. In the Style pop-up menu of this dialog box, select either Polygon (Polygon) or Star (shape). This example selects Star.
5. Enter a value (between 3-32) in the number of Sides text box. For example, to draw a pentagram, enter 5.
6. Enter a numeric value (ranging from 0-1) in the Star Point size text box to specify the depth of the star vertex. The closer the value is to 0, the deeper the vertices are created. This example enters 0.5.
Tip: If you are drawing a polygon (select Polygon in the Style menu), you do not need to modify the value of Star point size, which has no effect on the shape of the polygon.
7. Click the OK button to close the Tool Settings dialog box.
8. Drag the mouse in the editing area to draw the set graphics.
Tip: In the use of the mouse painting process, you can drag, move the mouse, adjust the size of the graphics and positioning.
9. If the number of sides is set to 20, the star point size is set to 0.02, the stroke color and fill color are set to red, so that the following pattern can be easily drawn.
By changing the two parameters of number of sides and star point size, you can draw patterns of different shapes. It's a bit of a hassle to draw a isosceles before, and with this new tool, it's much easier to draw a variety of geometries.
