These features are described in detail in the following sections.
Windows Firewall Integration
Windows firewall helps prevent attackers or malicious software from accessing your computer. When you install Microsoft security Essentials, the Setup Wizard verifies that Windows firewall is turned on. If you have deliberately shut down Windows firewall, you can turn it off by clearing the check box. You can change Windows firewall settings at any time through the system and security settings in Control Panel.
Network Inspection System
If the network is vulnerable, the computer is also vulnerable to attacks when connected to the network. A study of network vulnerabilities shows that it may take one months or more to develop, test, and publish appropriate security updates from the time of the initial reporting attack. This period of protection makes more computers vulnerable to attack. The network Check system provides real-time protection, so you will be protected within hours of discovering the attack, not weeks later.
The award-winning protection engine is internally the award-winning protection engine of Microsoft security Essentials, which is updated regularly. Supported by the anti-Malware research team at the Microsoft Malware Protection Center, the engine can respond to the latest malware threats 24x7.
