Symptom

The following symptoms can happen with the attributes in query designer:

• Attributes (navigational or display) are not displayed;

• Navigational attributes are displayed as display attributes;

Reason and prerequisites

1. attributes are not displayed in query designer.

The symptom may happen after the transport of a query from development into productive system. in most cases the reason for the symptom is additional authorization objects existing in the productive system and restricting the access to some attribute. according
To the authorization settings, some attributes are filtered out from the display in query designer.

Try to reproduce the symptom with a user havingSap_allAuthorization Profile. If all attributes are displayed, the corresponding adjustments of the authorization of the Restricted User shocould be specified med in order to allow the attributes display.

2. Navigational attributes are displayed as display attribute in query designed.

The symptom happens because of the error in the maintenence of the corresponding infoobjects. The error affects the infoobjects using conversion exit
Gjahr. The exit fills the field chaconst In the table rsdcha with the default values '123 '. at the same time, the infoobject maintenence (transaction rsd1) shows 'no constant values' set for this characteristic.

Query designer does not allow display of characteristics or navigational attributes having constant values. Those infoobjects are removed from display. In the case of navigational attributes, they are shown as display attributes.

The note861977Contains a code correction preventing the conversion exit from filling the field chaconst with the default '000000' values when' no constant value' exists.

Procedure:

• Implement the note 861977 into the corresponding system;

• Make any dummy change to the corresponding infoobject In order to overwrite the value '000000' existing in the field chaconst In the table rsdcha. for example, introduce a space (blank) in the 'constat value' field in rsd1. Save the infoobject.

• Activate the corresponding infoobject In order to reset the cash buffer still containing the wrong constant values.

After that the corresponding navigational attribute will be displayed correctly.
