COM add-ins can be installed in any location. Word installs the COM add-ins and interacts program to remove the registry key from the COM add-in, and then restart Word in the typical implementation method.
Operation Steps:
To remove a registry key for a COM add-in, follow these steps:
Quit all Office programs.
Double-click the Support Template shortcut on your desktop.
In the Support Template, click the Troubleshooter tool.
In the Microsoft Word Troubleshooter Utility dialog box, click to select an item in the list of registry entries for the COM add-in, and then click Delete.
When you receive a message that the Hkey_current_usersoftwaremicrosoftofficewordaddins registry key has been deleted, click OK.
Click Close to close the Microsoft Word Troubleshooter Tool dialog box.
On the File menu, click Out to quit Word.
Start Word.
