Office2010 exit File not saved, file recovery tips

What if you worked hard to edit or modify a document, but you accidentally hit the "Do Not save" button when you quit office? Is there any way to get back the unsaved work? No problem! OFFICE2010 has added this new feature to you--restoring unsaved versions. Below, I take Word2010 as an example to tell you how to recover an unsaved version. For other Office2010 programs, refer to similar methods.

If you have modified a previously saved document, and you just quit without saving the changes, you can retrieve the unsaved document as follows:

① reopen the previously saved document, click the "File" button to switch to the background view;

② click the Info page;

③ find a file version of the "< time > (when I did not save it)" button on the right "version", click this version.

If you create a new document that you have never saved before, and you opt out of "do not save" when you exit, you can retrieve the unsaved version as follows:

① start Word2010, click the "File" button to switch to the background view;

② Click on the Recently used Files page;

③ find the right hand of the "Restore Unsaved Document" button, click this button to select a file for recovery.

Alternatively, you can do this:

① start Word2010, click the "File" button to switch to the background view;

② click the Info page;

③ find the "Manage Version" button on the left side of the "Version" column and click on it;

④ Click the Recover Unsaved Document button and, if prompted, select the file you want to recover.

In Word2010, if you successfully recover a version of unsaved changes, Word2010 prompts you to select the "compare" or "restore" unsaved document. "Compare" means to compare this unsaved version to a previously saved version, whereas "Restore" means to overwrite a previous version with a restored version. If the unsaved document is new, Word2010 prompts you to save it as a Word document after the restore.

In other Office2010 programs, for files that have not been saved, the Restore option is available only after the restore, and the unsaved new document will still provide the Save As option after the restore.

Cold Plum Reminder: To use this new feature of Office2010, make sure that the relevant options are enabled (by default):

① start the OFFICE2010 program to enable this feature, click the file button to switch to the background view;

② Click the "Options" button in the left column of the background view;

③ in the left column section of the Pop-up Options dialog box, click the Save button to switch to the Save options interface;

④ Ensure that the check box in the Save options on the right, save AutoRecover information interval, and if I close without saving, leave the previous automatically retained version of the checkbox selected.

This function of restoring an unsaved version relies entirely on the automatic save feature. If you edit the document less than the set Save AutoRecover information interval (default 10 minutes) and then close the OFFICE2010 program, your file cannot recover the unsaved version.

The OFFICE2010 program has automatically saved (at least) one version for you, and you can safely close it and restore an unsaved version, only if the confirmation dialog box in the exit contains the word "If you click ' Do not save ' and will temporarily provide the latest copy of this file."
