Problem description
====================
The author sets up the test environment. Due to the need for testing and maintenance, many service applications are created. Because all the index files are stored in the default path, the author's folder looks like this:
In addition to judging the folder size, apart from opening one folder and checking the last modification date and time, I really don't know how to determine which folder stores the index file of the service application I want to see.
Solution
====================
On the server where the search service is enabled in Sharepoint, the following registry key values are available:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Office Server \ 14.0 \ Search \ applications]
After expansion, you can see that all the current search service applications have a corresponding key.
What we need to do is to find the matched key value, and then the matched Key Value Name (guid) is included in the index folder name.
The determination method is as follows:
1. Open the content source page of your search application in SharePoint 2010 in the management center. Write down start ses SSEs.
2. Open the registry key value above and continue to expand the following nodes under each guid
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Office Server \ 14.0 \ Search \ applications \{A guid }-Crawl-0 \ gather \ portal_content \ contentsources \ 0 \ startpages
Each child node of startpages corresponds to the start address in the content source of a Management Center. This information is sufficient to help you determine which guid folder contains the index file you want to view.
This tips should be useful. It will be used when noise word is modified and index is backed up in the future.
