[Editor's note] This article is the third article in the "bobo Kan project" series. It aims to share some of my feelings about a major factor in the project-time, we also hope that, starting from this issue, we will be able to analyze all aspects of project management in detail. While learning and improving on our own, we will also express some of the theories and practices we have learned, haha.

Speaking of time, I believe many of my friends will recall my childhood motto posted on the wall and recorded in this book. What is "10 thousand years is too long, it's hard to buy an inch of money, what about "fail, fail, fail"? What about "don't wait for free, white, and fail"? In short, there are too many, so I won't list them all here, time is so important to us. I believe our fathers have already said too much about our teachers. I will not continue to talk about it, saving you the trouble.

Today, I want to talk about time management in projects. How important is time for projects? Let's take a look at the ideal conditions of the project. The author believes that the ideal project is to achieve the highest quality at the lowest cost. An ideal project is also called an efficient project. The "effect" in an "efficient project" refers to the project efficiency. The formula for project efficiency is as follows: project efficiency = project achievements/project costs. Generally, project costs can be divided into time costs and objective resource costs (including manpower and material resources ), the two costs are directly proportional to the final cost, that is, the project cost = the time cost x The objective resource cost, project efficiency = project results/(time cost x objective resource cost). Now, let's get it clear. The so-called best project, to put it bluntly, uses the least time, spend the least resources and then complete the results of the highest quality. Speaking of this, the time in the project is so important that it is self-evident.

Some readers may not be able to sit down and say that you don't need to gather text here. The time in the project is so important that you have to say so much, what you need to know is how to manage the time in the project. What are you doing? I said you should not worry about it. Let me explain it to you carefully. In my opinion, the first principle of time management in this project is don't worry. Don't worry? Dizzy, I think everyone else is in charge of a project, that's a rush of words. Isn't that just a rush of time? In fact, the principle of time management headlines is "don't worry ". Well, I 'd like to share with you some of the lessons I learned when I first took over the project. I remember it was in February last year, and I held the support of our department manager, with confidence, I started my journey in the first project. I knew the importance of time in the project, as well as the importance of time in the project. When I got the project, I started to fight for time, three days of design, five days of database design, and then the process of writing code started. I wish to implement those functions for him tomorrow. Who knows the more I want to run, the more I can't run, after a few months, I was tired and had no confidence. I was also burdened with the psychological burden of Project extension. After a long period of time, I was exhausted. It was not until September that the salary management module in the human resources system was basically stable. It was necessary to begin the performance appraisal module to reflect on the deficiencies in project management, then I gradually remembered the story that I heard when I was very young. then I suddenly realized that the simple principle of "Step by Step" was used in project time management. Don't worry, it's not just cool, it's not like passive absenteeism, it's a kind of temperament that the project manager should have, no matter how tight the project is, we have to make an overall plan for the entire project. This is done, although Zhuge Kong is not as elegant as a thousand troops and horses, however, you can try to avoid embarrassment during the initial stage of the project.

Ah, what do you say to yourself there, the officer? What? What do you say seems reasonable, but I think something is wrong? Well, this is just my personal point of view. Of course it will be a bit wrong. I am also a target person with more than a year, and I have read some project management books by myself. Why, it should be a little bit. Are you right? (Haha, dumb, and then dumb ). In addition, thank you. In your words, I would like to share my second point of view. In project time management, you must learn how to distinguish. What is the difference? Determine the absolute available time, elastic available time, and non-available time. The so-called absolute available time refers to the time required by those projects. Without such time, the project will not be able to proceed. This time is guaranteed, for example, some normal working days between the start and end times of the project, except for some special uncontrollable reasons such as sick leave and other personnel changes, these time periods are absolutely not allowed for misappropriation, once these times are affected due to some of the above reasons, you need to make timely adjustments in the project. If necessary, you can also apply for help from external resources; the so-called flexible available time refers to the time that may be affected by unexpected causes. These causes may not occur, so that this part of time can be used as the surplus time, for example, in the third phase of our human resources system, the development process may be affected by some maintenance tasks in the completed phase, in the project planning of the third stage, this part of time should be taken into account and allocated as an elastic available time; non-available time refers to the time that is not within the normal development time of the project, such as holidays and after-work hours all fall into this category and overtime is not considered. This part of time cannot be used. Through the analysis of these times, you can have a clear context of the time you can have in your project, so that you can achieve success in project planning, in the actual implementation process, it will not change frequently and be placed in a passive fight situation.

What else? Let's talk about it together! Fast! Do you think you are in a hurry? Well, the third principle is the old saying, but it is still necessary to say that it is to strengthen monitoring. What we mentioned above is the plan, and the plan will never catch up with changes, in the actual implementation process, things may differ from the content in the Plan. As a project manager, you should pay attention to the changes in the actual operation and plan at any time, if the plan is found to be seriously insufficient for project implementation, it should be adjusted in a timely manner, while when the plan is reasonable but the actual situation is off the track of the original plan, it is necessary to negotiate with the project team members and company superiors and take appropriate measures (such as overtime) to ensure that the project is moving forward towards a benign timeline.
