The CHM file format is an HTML file-based Help file system introduced by Microsoft in 1998 to replace the previous WinHelp Help system, which referred to the CHM type file as a "compiled HTML Help file" in Windows 98.
CHM files are widely used in the network transmission because they are easy to use and various forms, and are also used as e-book formats.
In Windows systems, a CHM file reader has been installed by default and can be applied directly. But in Ubuntu, how do I open a CHM file?
1. In Ubuntu Software Center directly input CHM, will see the Kchmviewer, Chmsee, Xchm and other applications, choose to install.
2. Install via shell terminal, enter command:
sudo apt-get install Chmsee
sudo apt-get install Xchm
sudo apt-get install Kchmviewer
You can install the appropriate application.
Personally think Chmsee is still good.
