Open the "SPI can't create GMem lock" dialog box in IE. This user's system is Windows 7 with x64 bits. This prompt is displayed only when the 32-bit version of IE9 is enabled. It is normal to enable the 64-bit version of IE9. This problem is generally caused by installing third-party acceleration programs or plug-ins. We can reset Winsock Catalog to the initial state to solve this problem. The method is as follows:

1. Open the cmd command line window as an administrator

Click Start, enter CMD in the search box, right-click cmd.exe, and select run as administrator.

If it is an XP system, click Start --- run and Enter cmd and press Enter.

2. In the cmd command line window, Enter netsh winsock reset and press Enter. After "Successfully reset the Winsock catck" is displayed, the Winsock Catalog is Successfully reset, restart the computer and then enable IE again to see if the problem is resolved.

If the problem persists, proceed with the following method:

Enter sfc/scannow in the cmd command line window to confirm the execution.

Before executing this command, you must first put the system installation CD into the optical drive to run the repair program.

If there is no system installation CD, you can first install the same system version to another disk or move the hard disk, and then run regedit to open the registry editor "(Tip: It is risky to modify the registry. Back up data in advance and operate it with caution under the guidance of a professional.), 

Locate

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Setup] primary key. On the right side, change the "CDInstall" key value to "0 ", then, change the values of "ServicePackSourcePath" and "SourcePath" to the system path you just installed, for example, "G: \ windows ".

After running the program, you can scan the integrity of all system files and fix problematic files. However, it takes a long time to execute the sfc repair program.
