The installation process is a bit tortuous, but finally can be successfully installed, because did not look at the official installation documents, resulting in a lot of time to install, I hope this article can let the students want to pack cuda little detour
1.NVIDIA driver whether to install
Just started to install Cuda, thought to install the video card driver, search how to install the driver, causing the driver version does not meet CUDA requirements version, has been stuck here can not install Cuda, and later found Cuda installation package provides a graphics driver, if you have installed the driver, then to install Cuda, If it requires the driver version and the system has installed the version is not the same, there will be a problem, so, simply do not install the driver.
However, to provide the next openSUSE driver, refer to this link: driver installation
The main use of the inside of this installation method, directly Zypper installation
2.CUDA Toolkit 7.5 Installation
Download Cuda Toolkit 7.5, I was selected when RPM package was installed
Before the installation to pay attention to the problem, be sure to read the installation conditions of the Help document , that is, pre-installation Actions, see if the installation conditions are met, I have been installed before the success is stuck in the installation of Cuda, installed it provides the driver, the desktop into not go, Later, the problem was that the kernel version was too low, causing the installation of the Kernel-desktop-devel version to be noncompliant, and the installation drive failed.
Use Uname-r to view version 3.16.6-2 before installing the system but not updating the kernel version
Version with Zypper info Kernel-desktop-devel is 3.16.7-24.1
The workaround was to update the kernel version to update to the latest version.
Note: The kernel version must be the same as the Kernel-devel version
