This year, the 31st D2 version of the computer newspaper introduced an optimization technique to make full use of dual-core processor resources by changing the relationship settings of system processes. Although this technique can effectively solve the problem of software mutual acquisition of processor resources, resulting in a decline in system performance, it is very troublesome to manually adjust each time. Is there any easier way? After some exploration, I found that a software named winlauncherxp (: http://download.cpcw.com) can do this.
First glance at winlauncherxp
Winlauncherxp is a bit similar to the "sonic startup" that many players use, that is, starting other software by customizing the quick startup methods of some common software, it can also control the CPU resources used after the software is started, and set the CPU resource usage priority. These functions are very useful for the dual-core platform.
Figure 1
The main interface of winlauncherxp (figure 1) is similar to the "Sonic startup". The top menu bar shows all the settings of the software, the central list area is used to display the set software startup items, that is, the set software to be started can be found in this list, and can be started and set accordingly. The pagination bar at the bottom of the main interface is used to switch between differentProgramList, including all programs, launching, and listening ). The bottom information displays the basic information of the currently selected running software.
Experience the functions of winlauncher XP
Step 1: Select "programs → Add a program configuration" in the menu bar of the main interface to open the "new software shortcut" dialog box (Figure 2 ):
Figure 2
Step 2: In the dialog box, standard option requires that you set a shortcut name for the software and specify the path of the software. Click the Browse button to find the position of the software to be started in the pop-up "open page" (Figure 3 ). Of course, you can also set the default priority when the software is started in "standard options" (see Figure 2). This function is very practical.
Figure 3
Step 3: advanced settings in the new shortcut dialog box are used to set parameters for the software. For example, some players prefer to set parameters for the game shortcuts to enable certain functions or control panels of the game. The launch method we have created in the list can also provide this function, as long as you enter the corresponding parameters in the "additionnal parameters passed to the application" edit box (figure 4 ). Of course, there is a special listener function setting below, which is used for the gamespy software.

Step 4: for the dual-core platform, SMP settings are the focus. Here, we can specify that the software automatically runs on processor 0 or processor 1 at startup (for a dual-core processor without hyper-threading), and once the settings take effect, any software that starts with a shortcut created by winlauncherxp can automatically run on the specified CPU core.
Figure 5
SMP settings are simple. Take the Maxthon browser to work on the 2nd cores of the dual-core CPU as an example. You only need to select processor2 (figure 5) separately ), of course, we also see that the SMP tab of winlauncherxp has a choice of up to 8 processors. Therefore, this software can be used not only for dual-core or quad-core platforms with hyper-threading, but also for servers and is very powerful.
Step 5: Window options can be used to set the default window status when the software is started. For example, I like the browser, drawing tools, and other software to maximize when opened, select maximized (figure 6) in the Windows mode of the corresponding software ). Of course, you can also select normal mode, minimize and hide the taskbar. In addition, transpoliccy is the last option, which allows you to set the transparency after a software is started, which is very interesting.
Figure 6
Step 6: After setting all the settings, click Save. In all programs, we can see the shortcut of the newly created Maxthon browser. You can start it directly. Now let's look at the taskbar and run it on the specified 2nd cores (figure 7 ).
Figure 7
Please note that the Set software can only have the specified thread, priority, and other features after winlauncherxp is started. Therefore, we 'd better set it to start synchronously with the system: go to "file → preference", and on the startup options tab (figure 8), set whether the software starts with windows, minimize startup, and automatically hide the running program.

Conclusion
Winlauncherxp is a tool software commonly used by DIY enthusiasts. During the overclocking test on dual-core processors, the so-called "dual-open" is often required, that is, the two cores of the processor are fully activated, to increase the usage of the dual-core processor to the highest level, you must use winlauncherxp to set two shortcuts for core 1 and Core 2 respectively. For example, when we double-open super π or sp2004, the CPU can be in a completely unrelated full-load working state, which is truly to fully open the dual-core firepower. Winlauncherxp not only allows the software to work on different core of the dual-core processor, but also allows you to adjust the software priority and set startup parameters for the software, these functions are very useful for DIY players.
