Ora-01093:alter DATABASE CLOSE only permitted with no sessions connected

DG Master and Standby switch Walkthrough in 10.2.0.3 Environment, after closing the application and restarting the main library, the main library queries switch state:

Sql> select Switchover_status from V$database;

Switchover_status
--------------------
SESSIONS ACTIVE

Execute the following command to try to switch

Sql> ALTER DATABASE COMMIT to switchover to physical STANDBY;

The error is as follows:

Ora-01093:alter DATABASE CLOSE only permitted with no sessions connected

At the same time, the alert log errors many system user processes are not disconnected.

Solve:

By checking MOS discovery, it is because the 10g version of DG will racgimon the process to monitor the instance state, because many racgimon processes can be seen from V$session.program.

Sql> ALTER DATABASE commit to switchover-physical STANDBY withSESSION SHUTDOWN;

The switchover was successful.
