Oracle Database Planning Recommendations

The previously responsible project was useful to Oracle, and Oracle DBA gave some advice, tidied it up, wrote it down and made a memo.

Database Requirements Analysis:

1. The database name created is mailDB, and the character set is UTF8.

2. Provide a user name and password that can be connected to the database to use the database.

3. Adjust the maximum number of connections for the database to at least 500

4. Database Backup recommendations:

Turn on log archive, open the automatic backup control file in RAM,

Set up an automatic backup policy: Perform a full backup every Sunday and a differential backup from Monday to Saturday.

Keep a backup of the last half month and clear the backup half a month ago.

It is recommended that backup files be placed in different partitions.

5. Database File Partitioning recommendations:

Install the database software in a separate directory.

Place the database data file in a separate directory.

Place the log file in a separate directory.

Make a minimum of two copies of the control files and place different partitions to ensure the security of the control files

6. It is recommended to partition the data table space, (please Zhou Yan to confirm)

Build Message Index Table tablespace: Emailindex

Reference statement: (path depending on the situation, 20G is the recommended size, can be reduced as appropriate, but not recommended less than 10G)

　　Create tablespace emailindex datafile '/mail/oracle/oradata/datafile/emailindex01.dbf ' size 20g;

7. Database Storage Space Partitioning

Please adjust the storage, the database files are well planned,

Otherwise, it will be quite troublesome to make adjustments later, and affect the data security and user's use.

So this time the database adjusted well, to avoid trouble later.
