2DB Instance2.1start a DB instance

The Oracle DB instance startup process is divided into 3 steps: Launching an instance. Load the database. Open the database. Users can start the database in different modes according to the needs of the actual situation.

The command format used to start the database:

Startup[nomount][mount][open][force][resetrict][pfile=filename]

Nomount: The boot instance does not load the database.

Mount: Launches the instance, loads the database, and keeps the database closed.

Open: Launches the instance, loads and opens the database, default options.

Force: Terminates the instance and restarts the database.

Resetrict: Specifies that the database is started in a restricted session mode.

Pfile: Specifies the text parameter file that is used when the instance is launched, filename is the file name.

an Oracle DB instance must read an initialization parameter file at startup to obtain parameter configuration information about the instance startup. If the Pfile parameter is not specified when the DB instance is started , Oracle First reads the service initialization parameter file SPFile of the default location .

Several startup modes (the first user is to log on as sysdba to have permission to shut down and start the DB instance.) ):

1) nomount mode

Description: You typically use nomount mode to start a DB instance when you create a new database or rebuild a control file .

2) MOUNT mode

Description:MOUNT mode is typically used for database maintenance, such as performing a full database restore operation, changing the database's archive mode, and so on.

3) OPEN mode (default)

4) Force mode

2.2To close a DB instance

As with starting a DB instance, shutting down a DB instance is also a 3 - step process: shutting down the database. Unmount the database. Close the Oracle instance.

The command format used to close the database:

Shutdown[nomal][transactional][immediate][abort]

Nomal: shuts down the database in the normal way.

Transactional: Closes the database after all currently active transactions have been committed.

Immediate: Close the database in as short a time as possible.

Abort: shuts down the database in a terminating manner.
