Outside vsphere-create an ESX host on VMWare Workstation
If you want to install the esx4.0 host on a physical machine, you can skip this chapter. This chapter describes how to install the ESX host on Vmware workspace and how to create ESX settings.
First of all, my physical environment is like this. I will not explain how to install vmware workstation. After all, it is very popular.
The latest version of VMware workspace 6.5.2 156735 windows is 2008r2x64 with 8 GB memory. After all, each ESX host requires 2 GB of memory.
Optimize the settings, create a virtual machine, create two ESX hosts according to the same configuration, one is esx1 and the other is esx2
Select advanced settings. The default compatibility mode is 6.5.
Choose to start the installation from the esx4.0 installation disc you downloaded, and select redhax Linux 5-64bit as the Linux system. Otherwise, an error will occur.
Select the path. It doesn't matter if this ESX host is stored locally. Select the number of processors below. I found that only one is available and 22 is not enough.
The memory must be 2 GB, and the network is switched to the bridging mode. The simplest mode is to connect to the external network through the physical Nic.
Create an iSCSI disk and select create new disk.
Select SISC, and then select 16 GB disk
Select the default file name, and then select Advanced Settings.
Remove the three options and remove the 3D options.
Select intel or AMD-V virtualization mode, and select enable network connection replication status for the network.
Click OK to create the disk.
Finally, open the vmx file of the created virtual machine to insert the Red Line column. If this column is not inserted, when you start a virtual machine on ESX, you will be prompted that you cannot on a virtual machine in a virtual machine, that is, you cannot run a virtual machine on a virtual machine.
