Overview of CHM to PDF tools
There are three tools for converting CHM to PDF:
1) CHM to PDF Converter
Version: Pro 3.6
2) chm2pdf pilot
Version: 2.15.73
3) chmmagic
Version: 1.3
The principle of these tools is to convert CHM into HTML and then into PDF.
I don't know if there are other tools. I only use the above three tools.
In terms of tool performance, the first CHM to PDF converter is the most powerful, and the converted document is the best. The second is chmmagic, and the worst is chm2pdf pilot.
Next, let's comment one by one:
CHM to PDF converter converts PDF documents of the highest quality and good compatibility. It also has some disadvantages:
(1) to use the software, a printer driver must be installed, regardless of whether there is a printer.
Recommended software printer drivers include:
WinFax Printer Driver
Canon MFC 6000 (black and white)
HP 640C/642c/648c
Hp2000c
Lexmark 1020 color jetprinter
EPSON stylus color 600/640/660/680 etc
(2) The software is a paid software, and the cracked versions circulating on the Internet are not completely cracked. The PDF files generated using the software are encrypted and cannot be copied, pasted, annotated, and so on. There are too many restrictions.
(3) The generated PDF file is larger than the source CHM File.
The chmmagic software does not have the restrictions that the printer must be installed for CHM to PDF converter. You can directly convert CHM to PDF. The main drawback is that the converted PDF document cannot be selected, copied, or pasted. It is okay to add a comment. The converted PDF file is large, which is much larger than the original CHM File.
The size of the original PDF file is 1, 665kb, and the size of the converted PDF file is 4 and 687kb. It is really unsatisfactory.
As for chm2pdf pilot, I personally think its function is too weak and it is directly thrown to one side.
