In all the daily activities, the spirit of the Warrior's formula to train themselves. --The heart of the end of the gorge
In the 11th century, the monarch of the isthmus introduced the complete teachings of Bodhichitta from India to Tibet. He was especially focused on the training of the heart's adjustment or the mind-tuning.These teachings are always new, mainly because they can help us turn adversity into liberation, and the last thing we like most is to turn into immortal and tasty potatoes in the seven hearts of the Buddha who is in the valley. The seemingly most serious obstacles-our anger, disgust and anxiety-can be used as a fuel for awakening Bodhichitta.
After the death of His Holiness, these teachings were secretly preserved and passed on to the most intimate disciples. Until 12th century, there were few who knew of these teachings, until Geshe Chekawa Channgawa them into 59 simple formulas that were widely known. These formulas are called Lojong in Tibet or the heart of the isthmus. If you can familiarize yourself with these formulas, you will keep them in mind and put them into practice for a lifetime, which is to practise the most precious bodhi heart.
Channgawa, a brother who despised the Dharma very much, and often gave him pains to eat. Many of the leprosy patients who had been consulted for the fellowship were cured, and his elder brother began to be interested in the Dharma. The angry elder brother hid behind the door of the DMC to eavesdrop on adversity as a way of liberation. After a while, he realized that his elder brother was no longer irritable and had become compassionate and resilient, when he realised that his brother must have listened to the Dharma teachings of the mind and changed. So he decided to go to the making of the heart seven. He thought that even his brother would benefit, not to mention other people.
In general, we are always driven by habits, and we cannot terminate these patterns at all. If you are disappointed or think you have been betrayed, will we use those situations to fix our hearts? Usually not. However, when confusion is not clear, you can understand the Adi gorge to repair the strength of the seven. Familiar with these formulas is easier to do, put into practice is really difficult. For example, "always be compassionate or sad for those who disgust us": The traditional translation is "to the enemy constant repair", such a formula can be memorized in the heart, can help us in the mouth before the evil, immediately endure down.Once these formulas are memorized, they automatically come to mind and remind us to dwell on the emotional energies of the time without doing anything.
These mind-fixing formulas also pose a challenge. Whenever we escape from the present in some form of inertia, can we remember the formula that can help us get back to the present? Instead of turning around, can you use the intense emotions of the moment to transform yourself? The practice of repairing the heart Seven is to face the uncomfortable emotion with the mentality of the warrior. It encourages us to ask ourselves,"How can I practice this painful moment before I can turn adversity into a way of awakening?" "Every day of everyday life, there is a chance to be so self-aware.
The three challenges of practice teach us how to stop our inertial reactions. These three challenges are as follows:(i) the true recognition of their mental faculties ": In the perspective of Buddhist psychology, people who are not up to mourn are somewhat prone to mental disorders. "; (ii) to make actions that are different from the inertial response; (c) to practice continuously.
One of the hardest things about practice is to recognize that you are disturbed. It is almost impossible not to be merciful and to recognize that you are trapped in conflict and to be free from confusion. "Actions that are different from inertial reactions" are meant to break the tenacious pattern of emotional addiction. We should do our best to stop this stubborn tendency of procrastination and indulgence, and we should let go of the story of our hearts, connect with the underlying emotional energies, or practice the Bodhi heart that is presented in this book.
You can do anything that is not part of the inertia reaction, even if it is singing, dancing, running around the alley, we can do anything that does not strengthen the inertia reaction. The third challenge is that we have to remember that such a practice is not a one or two-time one. The cessation of harmful habits and the awakening of Bodhichitta is a constant practice that must be practiced throughout life.
The essentials of these exercises always emphasize one thing: instead of reacting to revenge or self-pity, gradually learn to perceive your emotional reactions and let go of your story. Then we can fully perceive the body's perception. One of the ways to practice is to suck your emotions into our hearts. Recognize emotions, let go of the story of the heart, feel the energy of the moment, is to cultivate compassion for their own heart.
Next, we can practice further. We can imagine that millions of people feel the same way about themselves, and then suck it up for everyone. I hope all of you can be free of confusion and the limitations of inertia. Once you can be merciful and aware of your confusion, you can extend that sadness to those who are equally confused. The magic of practicing Bodhichitta is that the scope of compassion will continue to widen.
Ironically, what we want to avoid most often is the key to awakening Bodhi heart. The emotional plight of these five mixed is the place where spiritual warriors gain wisdom and compassion. But of course, our chances of being out of these dilemmas are often too much to dwell on. That is why courage and kindness to oneself are so important, that in pain and lack of benevolence, it is tantamount to fighting with their own general.
When we are desperate, it is possible to suddenly recall that the formula: In the mind is lax if you can practice, it is called to have to "translate:" The traditional translation is "scattered can live". A moment of jealousy, disgust, contempt, or self-pity, if you can correct your mind immediately, it is true that there is a fix.
Let me repeat, practice means not to continue to strengthen those trapped in our inertia mode, and to do our best to awaken ourselves, no longer into the mode of rationalization or remorse. Try to be content with that strong emotion, without doing anything or deliberately suppressing it. If we do not do this, our habits will be more saturated.
Our inertia patterns are deeply rooted, they are seductive, and they are pleasing. So it's not enough just to find an air vent. These are the most clear of our old ginseng who have struggled with them for years. awareness is the real key. Can we see the story of our hearts talking to ourselves and question their effectiveness? Do we remember that this is our path whenever we are overwhelmed by emotions?
Can we feel this energy and suck it into our hearts for the benefit of ourselves and sentient beings? If you can experiment with this, even if it is occasionally, they are training themselves to become spiritual warriors. Sometimes we are disturbed completely unable to practice, but "know" oneself can not practice, is already in earnest to repair. Never underestimate the force of kindness in the truth.
Sometimes we are confused about our behavior, or do not know whether they will cause harm, suddenly the bottom of the heart but a formula:In their own testimony and other people's observation, to their own body card as the "translation:" the traditional translated into "the first two cards to take the first". We are the only ones who can fully understand ourselves.
Sometimes we can get feedback from the outside world and see our own ignorance. Others may indeed help us to see our blind spots. Especially those who will make us afraid, we must pay extra attention to their insight and criticism. But from a fundamental point of view, only oneself can see what is happening in the heart. Only oneself can hear the inner conversation, and the heart knows that he is in retreat or full of enlightenment.
After starting the practice, we will find that we are quite ignorant of what we have done.First we will find ourselves seldom content with the present. And then you see that you're making up all kinds of tactics, just to avoid the truth, especially when we're afraid we're going to get hurt. We are more likely to find ourselves convinced that if everything is done right, we will find a safe and comfortable place to spend our lives.
Growing up in the 50 's I, for a while really thought television broadcast situation comedy, is the general family typical live. They all seem to be in harmony, and no one is drunk or angry. We have never seen their favourite antics. Many of us who watch TV really think that only their own family is the exception. In order to maintain the "American Dream", everyone has concealed the truth.
> Not just the prosperity or the particularly difficult predicament, In all the activities of the day, we have to hold the hearts of the people of the valley of the heart formula. But remember, "don't get in the race, give up expectations of the fruit," and "Don't get applause!" "The traditional translation is" not to be rushed, "to break all the fruit to beg, and not to reputation." "
