Today, I met an HP p1007 printer and did not respond when I printed the file for a long time. A printer driver error is suspected, but the update does not improve. Therefore, you can only manually delete the driver of the printer and reinstall the latest version of the printer driver.
The steps for manually deleting a printer driver are as follows:
1. Go to control panel-printer and fax to delete the HP p1007 printer.
2. Locate the Print Spooler service under the control panel-Administrative Tools-service, stop the service, and change the Startup Type to disabled.
3. Start Menu-run, enter "Spool" and confirm. The opened folder contains three folders: drivers, prtprocs, and printers. Go to printers and delete all the items in this folder. Return to the previous directory and enter the drivers/w32x86 folder. Delete the folder except the "3" folder.
4. Start Menu-run, enter "inf" and confirm. Find the INF file and PNF file starting with "OEM" and ending with a number in the open file, for example, delete OEM numbers other than "oem0.inf oem0.pnf. INF and OEM numbers. PNF files, such as deleting files from oem1 to oem18 (different numbers of random sub-accounts vary ).
5. Go back to the C:/Windows/system32/spool/Drivers/w32x86 folder and delete the "3" folder. (You may be prompted for the printer driver.ProgramIt cannot be deleted because it is in use. It doesn't matter if you restart the computer and then delete it)
6. Select Control Panel> Administrative Tools> services, find the Print Spooler service, change the Startup Type to "Manual", and then start the service.
7. Control Panel-printer and fax, right-click in the blank space, and select "server properties ". In the displayed window, click "driver" to select the driver of the printer you want to delete. If you are prompted that the file is in use and cannot be deleted, stop the Print Spooler service and then start the service to delete it.
8. control Panel-printer and fax, click Add Printer-next --, remove the check box before "Auto Detect and install plug-and-play printer" -- next -- select the printer port "LPT1" or "usb1" -- next -- select "Install from disk" -- click "browsing ", find your printer driver and click OK. Then, the printer is updated.
