According to Internet reports, Amazon is also difficult to calm down in the face of the successive map search services launched by search giants. On Monday, Amazon's search engine A9 launched the map search service, featuring close-up photos in blocks.
This service is still being tested, but Amazon, like Google, MSN, Yahoo, and mapquest.com, began to provide users with detailed map search and driving guide services. Currently, the A9 Image Database contains 35 million city blocks, covering 22 cities in the United States. The City photos taken by these A9 mobile photography vehicles equipped with GPS form Amazon's "unique weapon ".
It is reported that as a feature of its yellow pages service, the A9 block photo service began earlier this year. In the service launched on Monday, Amazon combined massive photos and maps to achieve more convenient retrieval.
The A9 block photos will provide a more helpful picture than satellite photos of Google and MSN websites, said Udi manber, CEO of the search engine: "We strive to make map search less abstract and closer to the real world."
When a user asks for a driving guide on the A9 website, the system will display photos of the main buildings that can be viewed along the driving route. It is reported that since the launch of the Service in March, A9 has added about 15 million new photos.
Despite being backed by Amazon's "Mountain", the two-year-old A9 search in the United States is only a "minor font ". In June, there were only 4.9 million queries processed by A9, ranking 27th in search engines, with a share of only 0.1% in the U.S. market.
Among the 22 major cities that can be searched in the A9 map service are Denver, San Jose, Seattle, Washington, San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
