Photos taken by digital cameras need to be cut to get a good composition and the right size. The Crop tool can simply accomplish these tasks. However, some friends may not know that there are many ways to cut photos, not just the patent of cutting tools.
The basic usage of the Crop tool
The cropping tool can be used to trim or trim a picture, correcting skewed photos.
1: First we learn the basics of cutting tool usage. Using the cropping tool shown in Figure 1 (Mark 1), you can see that the property bar (labeled 2) does not enter any values by default, and we can select an area in the frame where the area will be dimmed to show the cropped area. There are 8 control points around the clipping box, and by using it we can widen, increase, shrink, and enlarge the box. If you put the mouse near the corner of the cropping box, you can see that the mouse will turn into a double-headed arrow with a corner, at which point we can rotate the cropping box to an angle.
2: With the rotation of the cutting box method, we can directly in the crop, the tilt of the picture corrected, as shown in Figure 1 in the lower right corner.
3: If you want to make a standard flush photo file, you can crop it by using the width, height, and resolution options in the property bar. For example, to make 5-inch photos, you can enter "5" in the Width input box, enter "3.5 inches" in the Height input box (if in centimeters, it is 12.7x8.9 cm), resolution refers to the number of pixels in the same area, you can imagine, the same area, more pixels, the image will be more sophisticated. In general, the resolution is up to 300 pixels per inch, and the image effect is good. As shown in Figure 2:
When cutting photos, pay attention to the composition of the final works, photos are good, cut improperly will be failed.
What should you pay attention to when composing?
The composition is too much, say some commonly used, such as pictures to have the main and complementary, to each other; beginners can put the main point on the Golden Segment (1:0.618) before they learn to design a novel composition; avoid horizontal or vertical lines to completely truncate photos (such as horizon, wire, etc.) Pay attention to the main characters in front of the line of sight to have a certain amount of leeway, not in the cutting, let the main characters look at the edge of the photo and so on.
It seems to be cut properly, you can cut the original not outstanding photos into a good work!
Of course. In fact, photography is not more than who shot things, add things to the above easy, want to cut out the superfluous image, the photos do exquisite, it will be a lot of thought.
Crop Tool Fix Photo perspective
The buildings we shoot are all in perspective, and if this distortion is too large, we can use the cutting tool to fix it.
1: Let's see how to fix the perspective of the photo. In shooting the building, we can find that, because of the large size of the building, perspective caused by the skew phenomenon will be more serious. We need to correct the images that are badly deformed. In other cases, we may need a building's face view. For example, the three-dimensional construction of the CS game, in fact, is to use the software will be the image of the building to eliminate the perspective into a map, like a paste lantern paste in the three-dimensional model produced. If both ends have skew, simply use the rotation of the clipping box is powerless.
2: Let's look at the building shown in Figure 3. The building is taller, the top is far from us, the bottom is nearer, the near big far is small, so the building has the perspective deformation in the picture. If you want to eliminate this distortion, we can use the Crop tool, in the property bar to select the "Perspective" option (marked 1), pull the four corners of the control point to the building of the Four Corners, carriage return to determine the building can be the face of the map.
I can't imagine cutting tools can also correct skew and perspective distortion!
function is not only so, in addition to the reality of the scissors as a small picture, cutting tools can also cut the photo. For example, set the background color to white, use the cropping tool box to select all the images, and then use the control point to enlarge the cropping box beyond the image, you can trim the white border.
Wow, it's really convenient to make a border so soon!
Yes, the cropping tool is not as simple as it should be, and if you enter a value in the width, height, and resolution of the property bar, we can also directly trim the picture of the specified size. After you frame the selection, press ENTER, and the picture will automatically zoom to the specified size by the cropping box and the property bar settings. If you want to cut a large number of photos to the same size as a picture, you can open this picture first, click the "Previous Image" button on the property bar, the image size information will be automatically filled in the previous input box, and then crop other pictures, will be the same size.
What is the Clear button for?
Eliminates the previously filled values and restores the cropping tool to its default state.
Tailoring images with menus skillfully
Cutting tools are easy to use, but when working with images, we need a more flexible approach, and tailoring with menus is a good idea.
Chillos, sometimes I use the selection tool to select a piece of image, the location has been very accurate, do not want to use the cutting tool to reset the bit, there is no direct selection of the area to cut into a diagram of the method?
With "image"-"crop" in the menu, its shortcut key is CTRL +,
What is the difference between it and the use of cropping tools?
The crop command is suitable for trimming a rectangular image on an existing selection, and if we want to use the edge of a layer as a cropping basis when composing an image, press CTRL to click the layer thumbnail and turn it into a selection and then crop it very precisely.
Let's do an experiment, open a picture, select an area with the rectangular selection tool, use the "select"-"Transform Selection" command in the menu to rotate the selection to an angle, and then use the "image"-"crop" command to get the figure 4. By looking at it, you can see that the crop command is trimmed by the highest, lowest, leftmost, and rightmost points of the selection by four edges, so it cannot correct the skew when cropping.
It looks a little simple, huh?
Ever thought of using it in conjunction with other commands?
What are the advantages of combined use?
For example, if, at the time of synthesis, individual layer content is larger, sometimes out of the frame, if we select the area and delete the external image of the operation, the image outside the frame will not be deleted, move the layer again, the picture frame outside the ugly edge also moved in. If a lot of layers, one of the cleaning is very troublesome, at this time we just need to press a few keys to solve this problem.
I guessed it! Press the CTRL key not to let go, press "a" (select all images) and press "," (Crop command)!
Smart! If you have more than one shortcut key in your operation that combines the CTRL key, this is a very fast method. To improve efficiency, not only the use of shortcut keys, seemingly simple continuous button method, will allow you to save a lot of production time.
If I use the cropping tool box to select all the images, press ENTER to determine if the same as the previous method has the same effect?
Of course.
One step, scan the picture.
We often put a large number of photos together to scan in, these photos are not placed in a very neat, one by one cut to the dead! In the new version of Photoshop, we can fix the problem in one step.
There are also 50 scanned images, all of which are scattered small photos to be processed.
We used the File menu to fix the problem.
1: As shown in Figure 5, the top is scanned manuscript, scanned the bottom of the board color is generally black, the picture is not neat and tidy, but should be careful not to overlap with each other.
2: Click the menu "File"-"Auto"-"crop and trim photos", you can see Photoshop automatically crop the picture and make a new file for us to further modify (Figure 5 below).
